Wroxham Station Master/Mistress

The Bure Valley Railway is a major tourist attraction within Norfolk and welcomes over 100,000 visitors a year. We are looking for friendly and self-motivated staff members to join the team to manage our Wroxham shop/ticket office at Wroxham Station.
Positions: Full time permanent
Hours: Full time, 5 days per week. Weekends essential, two days off in the week.

Key Duties
• Open and close station by performing duties such as placing and removing signage, opening and closing tills, unlocking and securing carpark and shop
• Processing online orders
• Greet customers and process sales transactions using EPOS system
• Dealing with customer enquiries and orders in person or over the telephone
• Handling customer complaints and returns
• Placing orders with suppliers and managing deliveries
• Ensure stock displays are well presented with the appropriate quantity of stock
• Keeping the shop and platform clean and tidy
• Daily cleaning of toilets

Requirements
• Good communication skills
• Experience of a retail environment desirable
• Good organisational skills, ability to multi task and excellent time management
• Ability to work under pressure
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Be customer focused – excellent customer service/care skills
• PC literate – being able to manage and learn new systems such as EPOS, stock control and rotas
• Work most bank holidays and weekends
• Driving licence essential for travelling to either station

Train Guard

The Bure Valley Railway is a major tourist attraction within Norfolk and welcomes over 100,000 visitors a year. We are looking for a friendly and self-motivated staff member to join the team to Guard our passenger trains.
Position: Full time permanent
Hours: 45 hours per week

Key Guarding Duties
• Prepare and check the train
• Help passengers board and alight
• Monitor safe, efficient and punctual running on train
• Maintenance and possible retail work out of season (depending on skills of applicant)

Requirements
• 18 years or older
• Able to pass medical examination
• Able to get to and from both our stations
• Good communication skills
• Good organisational skills, ability to multi task and excellent time management
• Ability to work under pressure
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Be customer focused – excellent customer service/care skills
• Work most bank holidays and weekends on a rota basis
