Kids Go Free August Bank Holiday Weekend

The Summer holidays are on their way! There are so many great places to visit and things to do in our glorious county. As a local Norfolk attraction, we understand that summer can be an expensive time of year. That's why, when we can, we like to offer our visitors a little extra.

This August Bank Holiday weekend, KIDS TRAVEL FREE from Saturday the 23rd August through to Monday 25th August. To qualify for the offer, pay one full adult fare and bring a maximum of two kids (0-15 years) to travel our steam railway at no charge. Please include all seats when booking, and use code AUGBHKIDS25 at checkout to receive the special offer.

Bure Valley Railway Rover Return

Travel from either Aylsham or Wroxham stations, with the option to visit the villages of Buxton, Brampton, or Coltishall en route. These are request stops only, so please ask when collecting your tickets if you would like to stop at any of the intermittent stops. When catching the return train from either, simply flag the train down as it approaches.

With our rover return, our train journeys are perfect for all ages, offering the flexibility to explore and make a day of it. Enjoy tea and cake or lunch at The Whistlestop Cafe at Aylsham station. Aylsham is a picturesque market town, well worth a wander and investigation. You’ll also find some lovely local attractions nearby such as Blickling Hall Estate , and the RAF Oulton Museum - great places to visit before or after your railway journey as they are not within walking distance.

Wroxham, known as the capital of the Broads, is a popular destination to visit. Enjoy outdoor activities like fishing, or even hire a canoe or kayak, great for older children. Take a boat trip with Broad Tours or hire a day boat to explore the waterways. Stop for fish and chips or an ice-cream from one of the local parlours. Or visit Wroxham Miniature Worlds , an indoor attraction just a six minute walk from our Wroxham railway station. The last steam train leaves Wroxham station to return to Aylsham at 16:15, and the last diesel train leaves Wroxham at 17:15. Check the Timetable for changes.

Whether you've visited us before or you're on holiday exploring all that Norfolk has to offer, we look forward to welcoming you this August Bank Holiday!
