No.7 "Spitfire".
History
The locomotive was built specifically for the railway by Winson Engineering and delivered to the railway
at Whitsun, 1994.
In 2005 the locomotive was partially rebuilt in order to improve its efficiency, returning to traffic in
March 2006.
The design is loosely based on the Indian Railway 'ZB' class of locomotive.
In early 2011 the loco's 10 year overhaul begun, including redesigning the front end steam pipes. We hope to see the loco back in traffic by the middle of 2011.
The locomotive is owned by the Bure Valley Railway.
