DISABLED ACCESS
We are continually trying to improve access to our stations and trains for disabled visitors. Disabled toilet facilities are available at both main stations and all public areas are provided with gentle ramps for easy access. In 1998 two special coaches were built which provide wide and easy access for all types of wheelchairs. Each coach provides space for up to four manual wheelchairs with adjacent seating for carers. The coaches have large windows which provide a good view for all passengers. There is no sill at the entrance and only a minor ramp from platform surface is required. If you have disabled members in your party who wish to travel on the train it would be advisable to telephone Aylsham Station before your visit.
A further four specially adapted coaches were built and brought into service for our 2002 season.

JOINT VISITS

Norfolk is well known for the high quality of its tourist attractions and this has led to many groups visiting more than one attraction in a day. Fortunately, the Bure Valley Railway is ideally situated to be included in such outings, and we will be pleased to offer advice on other local attractions and places of interest.

On a regular basis we operate a Boat Train from Aylsham to Wroxham which connects with 'Broads Tours' sailings on the Broads. For tour operators who are able to transport their passengers from Wroxham to Horning (3 miles) we can also offer combined fares when utilising the Mississippi Paddle Boat for 90 minute cruises on the Broads. Combined tickets and special rates are available.
Whilst in the area, the railway is also close to the National Trust's property of Blickling Hall (approximately 1 mile from Aylsham Station), groups can therefore travel on the railway in the morning and then combine their journey with a visit to a stately home during the afternoon, thus making an all day outing for groups.
There is a large Craft centre called Wroxham Barns which is approximately 2 miles from our Wroxham station. This also includes a junior farm.

If you intend after your train journey to continue on to any of the above attractions then we advise you to have your coach transfer your party as there is a distance of walking involved.
Further details may be obtained by telephoning 01263 733858.

SCHOOL VISITS
The Bure Valley Railway are pleased to welcome visits from school groups to travel on our trains. You can view a copy of our Schools Risk Assessment document. Should you have any further questions then please contact us.
BURE VALLEY WALK AND CYCLE PATH
The Bure Valley Railway is paralleled along its whole length by the scenic Bure Valley Walk and cycle path. Ramblers or others wishing to break their journey at either Brampton, Buxton or Coltishall are welcome to do so. Other walks start or finish close to our stations, both Weavers Way and Marriott's way can be found close to Aylsham station.
